Background info.
This project will discover what kind of Music affects a plants' growing process in the best and worst way. In order to accomplish this we are going to grow four of the same plants from the seed. There will be music playing for three hours everyday for three of the four plants. In order to evaluate the plants we are going to make measurements and collect quantitative observations on how the plants are fairing. During our research, we have found a few things that may affect our experiment.
We have discovered that “Plants have no nervous system,”(Yahoo Answer,) and that the only way they absorb light and water is through photosynthesis,and nothing else. So we also wonder if the plants can even react to the vibrations caused by varying music genres. Well we have also found that “Classical music is the most commonly chosen music when it comes to better plant growth,and Rock is the worst”(Wiki Answers,Music Affects). So our hypothesis is probably going to be based on that research. A fast growing plant we have found, is Cosmos which takes “3-10 days to germinate” (How to plant...). Although “Bamboos are the fastest growing plant,” (Wiki Answers, Fastest Growing...) but we aren’t going to grow them.
